The First Amendment in the Bill of Rights

A Sincere Thought by Dr. Sabri Bebawi

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Now, this is clearer than sunlight and as simple and easy to understand as a Disney tale. Sadly, like a Disney tale, the current government has made a mockery out of our Constitution and Bill of Right. We have ad that pretty girl who is neither the first at anything, nor is she a lady, but she is supposedly the wife of the illegally and fraudulently elected a leader, Donald Trump, endorsing the Christian faith in defiance of the established laws of separating the State from the Church.

Furthermore, we have Trump constantly, persistently and resentfully attacking our free press calling journalist names and making a mockery of our only guardian against the government.

With this, comes the severe danger of having the religious authorities dictate politics and, before we notice,  we are back to the 14th century – Perhaps that what Trump meant when he proclaimed “We Will Make America Great Again.” What Pat Robertson said on his televised appearance was quite scary and should not be taken neither lightly nor jokingly. This is very serious, indeed.

As a journalist myself, who suffered oppression and and the lack of freedom and the continuous censorship and fear of authority, can understand first hand what “…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” means. I escaped to America, the land of the free, many years ago for that reason alone.  Perhaps I seems so very zealous and disturbed that Facebook has banned me completely now.

Facebook owners and operators are Republican maniacs and are working very closely with the this current government to prevent any form of dissent, disagreement, ridicule, or even enlightenment.  They have coined me persona-non-grata three times now that at the moment it is not possible for me to have a Facebook account with my information.  So I ask my dear friends and fans to boycott Facebook.

Ladies and gentlemen, the United States of America has never been in such danger before now.  Please keep vigilant to protect democracy and freedom.  This writer is not very optimistic, though.
